It is close enough to the city that airport transport is a real choice: A1 can be efficient for a central arrival, city routes work for budget travel and neighbourhood-specific access, while taxi or app rides are better for late arrivals, family luggage, business hotels and addresses away from the main route.

The airport’s ground-transport page is unusually useful because it names the actual lines instead of only saying “bus.” It lists A1, 72, 72N, 600, 860i and 607, with route summaries and approximate travel times. The limitation is luggage and timing. If the flight lands late, if the hotel is not near the A1 route, or if two people have suitcases, a taxi or app ride can be the better value even if A1 is cheaper or operationally simple.

Line 72 and 72N

Line 72 is listed by the airport between Airport Nikola Tesla and Zeleni venac, with an approximate travel time of 30-40 minutes. Zeleni venac is useful for Stari Grad, Terazije and downtown bus connections, but the route is slower than a direct taxi. The airport also lists 72N between Republic Square and Airport, with an approximate travel time of 30-40 minutes. This is important because late-arriving travellers need a real night option, not a daytime route copied into a guide.

Use 72 if the hotel is central and luggage is light. Use 72N only after checking live timing, because night-service gaps can be painful after a delayed flight.

Lines 600, 860i and 607

This is the important public link for Prokop / Beograd Centar rail planning. Why Prokop matters

Belgrade’s main rail logic now centres on Belgrade Centre, widely known as Prokop.
