Chengdu Transport Hub
Chengdu is a two-airport city, and that is the first rule of every transport plan. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is the older airport close to the urban core. Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) is the large newer airport far to the south-east. Both can be reached by Chengdu Metro, but the route, travel time, taxi cost and best hotel area are different.
For a subway-map app article, Chengdu needs more than a generic “metro is available” sentence. Line 10 and Line 19 matter for Shuangliu. Line 18 and Line 19 matter for Tianfu. For fares, Chengdu Metro is distance-based and starts at CNY 2 on ordinary local trips, with airport trips costing more by distance. CTU Shuangliu Arrivals
CTU is the easier airport when the destination is central Chengdu, Wuhou, Tianfu Square, Chunxi Road, Kuanzhai Alley, Chengdu South, or a hotel on the south-west metro side. It is close enough that taxi or Didi is not outrageous, but metro is usually the most predictable budget option.
Metro Line 10 is the classic Shuangliu airport line. It serves Shuangliu Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and connects toward the city through Taipingyuan, where passengers can transfer to Line 3 and Line 7. TFU Tianfu Arrivals
TFU is the airport that changes Chengdu planning most. It is far enough from the core that road transfers can be costly and traffic-sensitive. The best public option is usually Metro Line 18 or Line 19, depending on the destination and current service pattern.

Chengdu Metro Airport Lines
Chengdu Metro is the backbone of airport movement. Line 10 serves Shuangliu. Line 18 serves Tianfu. Line 19 links the Tianfu corridor with Shuangliu T2 East and other western connections. Line 30, opened as part of the expanding network, reaches the Shuangliu Airport T2 East station area, which strengthens south-west airport access.

Chengdu West is important for west-side rail, including Yaan and Chengdu-Pujiang corridor trips. It connects with Line 4 and Line 9 and also links with tram Rong 2 in the wider station context. If a rail ticket says Chengdu West, do not go to East or South.
The older Chengdu station / north rail hub still exists and appears on some tickets and routes. Use the exact station name and Chinese characters from the China Railway ticket. Chengdu has too many rail hubs for the English word “station” to be safe.
Intercity Bus Terminals
Chengdu intercity buses are important for scenic Sichuan and regional routes where rail is not the best fit. TravelChinaGuide's 2026 long-distance bus overview says Chengdu has 12 intercity bus stations, including Xinnanmen, Chadianzi and East rail hub intercity bus facilities.
