São Bernardo do Campo is an ABC Paulista road-and-bus hub, not a rail hub. Its transport logic is built around Congonhas and Guarulhos airport transfers, EMTU / Next Mobilidade metropolitan corridors, BR7 Mobilidade municipal buses, the Anchieta-Imigrantes road system, and terminal choices such as Terminal Metropolitano Ferrazópolis and Terminal Grande Alvarenga. If You Land at Congonhas

Congonhas is the cleanest airport for many São Bernardo trips. It is close enough that a direct Uber, taxi or private transfer often beats a complicated bus/metro route, especially with luggage. Uber’s CGH pickup page says Uber is available 24/7 and that pickups are typically at the Ground Transportation exit, with the exact pickup zone shown in the app. For business travelers, this is usually the right first move: land, call the car, go straight to the hotel or office.

The public-mode alternative depends on your destination. If you need Rudge Ramos, Centro or Anchieta, the direct car may be far simpler. If you are going onward to São Paulo metro or another ABC city, compare Jabaquara, Saúde, Tamanduateí or EMTU corridor options. But do not underestimate traffic around Congonhas, Avenida dos Bandeirantes and Anchieta approaches.

Use this CGH plan:

Read the ticket carefully. “São Bernardo do Campo” may mean a long-distance road terminal, an EMTU corridor terminal, a curbside stop, or a neighboring São Paulo/ABC terminal depending on operator. Viação Cometa’s official notice says that from 28/04/2022, boarding and alighting for São Bernardo moved from João Setti on Rua Domingos João Balotim, 80 to Terminal Grande Alvarenga at Estrada dos Alvarenga, 235, Assunção. BlaBlaCar and Busbud still list João Setti-style pages and addresses, which is exactly why the operator ticket must control the final plan.

If arriving late by bus, take Uber or taxi to the hotel. São Bernardo is spread out, and a “nearby” address can still involve hills, highways or industrial streets.

GRU to São Bernardo

GRU to São Bernardo is a regional metropolitan transfer. For a family, business traveler or late arrival, use direct car. For a solo budget traveler, compare airport rail/bus into São Paulo and a final ride from metro/CPTM, but only if carrying light luggage and arriving during operating hours.

If staying near a rail-connected neighbor, such as Santo André or São Caetano, it may sometimes be better to sleep there and commute to São Bernardo by bus/taxi. For work in São Bernardo itself, stay in São Bernardo and accept the road transfer.

Terminal Metropolitano Ferrazópolis

Terminal Metropolitano Ferrazópolis is the most important metropolitan corridor anchor to understand.
