Do not assume the central Tirana airport shuttle is the right route for Vlorë. If Vlorë is the destination, start with the direct Vlorë airport bus first.

Vlora International Airport has the IATA code VLO and an official site, but the official site currently presents the airport as “Coming Soon”. Aviation trackers and route pages show no dependable scheduled passenger network for travel planning, and 2026 reporting has described certification/permit delays and cancelled summer charter plans.

Use VLO only when your airline ticket clearly shows VLO with a live flight. For ordinary planning, use TIA plus bus/private transfer.

Vlorë Bus Terminal And Intercity Buses

Vlorë’s bus terminal is practical but informal compared with major European bus stations. Gjirafa describes the Vlorë terminal area as the former railway station site on Rruga Gjergj Kastrioti, serving intercity buses and furgons.
