The rail side is strong. Xinxiang East Railway Station is the main high-speed station and connects Xinxiang with the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed corridor and Zhengzhou-area connections. Xinxiang Railway Station remains useful for conventional rail and city-centre access. For buses, Xinxiang Coach Terminal on Ziyou Street and Xinxiang East Coach Station on Xinfei Avenue South handle regional road travel. The best hotel base depends on whether the traveller is airport-bound, rail-bound, coach-bound or visiting factories, universities and county-level destinations around Xinxiang.

Because the airport is in Zhengzhou’s airport zone, the safest plan is to keep two backup routes. If the airport coach from Xinxiang International Hotel matches the flight, it is direct and predictable. If rail timing is better, Xinxiang East to Xinzheng Airport high-speed/intercity tickets can be checked on 12306 or a rail-booking platform. For late flights, early departures or family luggage, price a car before the travel day so the transfer does not become improvised at the last minute.

For rail arrival, identify the station printed on the ticket. Xinxiang East is the high-speed station for fast Zhengzhou, Beijing, Wuhan and airport-linked rail planning. Xinxiang Railway Station is a different station and may work better for older central hotels, conventional trains and coach-terminal access. Mixing them up is the easiest way to lose time in Xinxiang.

For road travel, use the exact coach-station name. Xinxiang Coach Terminal on Ziyou Street is not the same as Xinxiang East Coach Station on Xinfei Avenue South. Tickets, pickup points and local taxi instructions should use the Chinese station name, not only “bus station” in English.

Airport Transfer: Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport is the main airport to check for Xinxiang. It has an airport ground transport center and intercity coach services to cities across Henan and the central plains, including Xinxiang. Because the airport is well outside Xinxiang, the airport transfer should be planned like an intercity leg.

The direct airport coach is the most straightforward public option. Zhengzhou BendiBao lists Xinxiang-to-Zhengzhou-airport coaches departing from Xinxiang International Hotel and gives a CNY 60 fare. Its published Xinxiang-to-airport departure examples include 05:50, 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30 and 18:00. Airport-to-Xinxiang examples include 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:10, 14:20, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30, 19:40 and 21:00. Use these as route proof and planning context, then verify the live timetable before travelling.

Checi airport-coach pages also list Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport to Xinxiang at CNY 60 with International Hotel as the note / stop. For airport-side boarding, BendiBao describes following airport signs from T2 toward the GTC. That is important: do not look for a random curbside bus if the route boards from the airport’s ground-transport centre.

Rail can be faster when the timetable works. Trip.com’s Xinxiang East to Xinzheng Airport route page shows frequent train options and says the shortest high-speed rail trip can be around 19 minutes. In real life, the total journey includes getting to Xinxiang East, security, ticket/ID checks, the train ride, and the airport-station walk. It is excellent for a passenger already near Xinxiang East or comfortable with Chinese rail; it may be less convenient than the coach for someone staying beside Xinxiang International Hotel.

Taxis or DiDi to the airport should be treated as intercity transfers. They can be useful for early flights, late landings, family luggage and business trips with fixed timing, but the fare can be much higher than the coach or rail. Check an app estimate or hotel-arranged transfer quote before relying on it.

Rail Stations

Xinxiang East Railway Station is the main high-speed station. Gaotie.net describes Xinxiang East as a passenger station under China Railway Zhengzhou Group in Hongqi District, with important lines including Jinan-Zhengzhou and Beijing-Guangzhou. The station is the logical rail anchor for Zhengzhou East, Xinzheng Airport, Beijing, Wuhan and other high-speed corridors.

The station is also improving as a transfer point. Xinxiang Daily reported in September 2025 that the Xinxiang East high-speed station transfer center entered trial operation, with an underground two-level structure integrating high-speed rail transfer, bus connection, taxi and ride-hailing transfer. That matters for travellers because the station is becoming less of a standalone rail building and more of a multimodal hub.

Xinxiang Railway Station is still relevant. It is the older city station for conventional rail and is often better for central hotels, Ziyou Street coach-terminal access and older districts. When booking rail, check whether the ticket says Xinxiang East or Xinxiang. When booking a hotel, ask which station the hotel means if it advertises “near the railway station”.

For live tickets, use China Railway 12306. Its English site states ticketing and information services and is the primary source for schedules, tickets, refunds and real-name ticketing rules. Passport travellers should leave margin for security and ID checks, especially when connecting from a coach or airport transfer.

Coach, Bus and Local Movement

Xinxiang’s coach network is useful for county-level and regional trips. Checi lists Xinxiang Coach Terminal, also called Xinxiang General Bus Station, at Ziyou Street 155 with consultation phone 0373-2021240. This is the first coach station to check for many ordinary regional road departures.

Xinxiang East Coach Station is another important road terminal. Checi lists it as Xinxiang Keyun East Station at Xinfei Avenue South 2 with consultation phone 0373-5820805. Use this terminal when the ticket, hotel or local contact specifically says East Coach Station; do not assume it is the same place as the Ziyou Street terminal.

For airport coach boarding in Xinxiang, the published route uses Xinxiang International Hotel rather than either coach terminal. That creates a common first-day decision: if the flight is the next move, a hotel near the airport-coach pickup may be more useful than a hotel near a railway station. If a train is the next move, Xinxiang East or the central station area may be better.

For local buses, use map routing and station signs. Xinxiang East’s newer transfer center is designed for bus connection, taxi and ride-hailing, while the older station and coach-terminal areas are more central. City buses are useful for light luggage and daytime movement; taxis and app rides are better for late arrivals, industrial districts, university campuses and multi-stop business trips.

Taxis, DiDi and Fare Planning

Xinxiang taxi fare rules are more concrete than the old template suggested. A Henan policy notice on Xinxiang urban taxi fare adjustment lists a daytime start fare of CNY 7 for the first 2 km and a night start fare of CNY 8 for the first 2 km, with the per-kilometre fare at CNY 1.6 after the starting distance. The night period is listed as 22:00 to 05:00.

Use that fare as a city benchmark, not as an airport-transfer quote. A short ride from a station to a central hotel should behave like an ordinary urban taxi. A ride from Xinxiang to Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport is a regional intercity transfer and should be priced through DiDi, the hotel, or a negotiated/private transfer quote before departure.

DiDi is the main app-based ride option to check in China. In Xinxiang it is especially useful for station pickups, hotel-to-factory-zone trips, university districts, late arrivals and transfers between Xinxiang East and the central coach terminal. Set it up before arrival with payment and data. Keep Chinese names ready: 新乡东站 for Xinxiang East Railway Station, 新乡站 for Xinxiang Railway Station, 新乡客运总站 for Xinxiang Coach Terminal, 新乡汽车东站 for Xinxiang East Coach Station, 郑州新郑国际机场 for Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and 新乡国际饭店 for Xinxiang International Hotel.

For early airport departures, compare three options the previous day: airport coach from Xinxiang International Hotel, rail from Xinxiang East to Xinzheng Airport, and app/private car. The cheapest route is not always best if it creates a missed flight risk.

Best Areas to Stay

Xinxiang East / high-speed station area is best for high-speed rail, airport-rail connections and business trips in the eastern development corridors. It is also increasingly practical because the transfer center integrates buses, taxis and ride-hailing.

Central Xinxiang / Xinxiang Railway Station is best for older city access, conventional rail, restaurants, simple local taxis and connections toward Ziyou Street. Choose this base for ordinary city stays or when the next departure is from Xinxiang Railway Station or Xinxiang Coach Terminal.

Xinxiang International Hotel / airport-coach pickup area is best when the airport coach is the next move. It is especially useful for a one-night stop before a flight, because it avoids crossing the city before a regional airport transfer.

Ziyou Street / Coach Terminal area is useful for road departures. Choose it when the next morning’s ticket says Xinxiang Coach Terminal / General Bus Station. For East Coach Station, check Xinfei Avenue South instead.

University, factory-zone or county-edge hotels should be chosen only when the actual destination is nearby. These areas can be practical for business but weak for airport, rail and coach logistics.
